Its good reload speed and capacity with mods give it very snappy handling and it benefits from much higher ammo pickup compared to other weapons of its damage class, which lessens the reliance on ammo bags in contrast to the AK.762 for example, though carrying ammo bags are still recommended. ![]() It is one of the most versatile and powerful weapons for harder and longer heists, and specializes particularly well as a DMR Kit rifle or a highly concealable dodge/crit build rifle. Its recoil is more horizontal than vertical, even after mods are equipped in order to mitigate such. As a result, it is very good at high sustained damage at close range, but short bursts or single shots are needed for anything beyond that. It has high damage for a fully automatic weapon accompanied by a high rate of fire. The AMR-16 is one of the last two weapons to be unlocked in the base game, the other being the Mosconi 12G. It is less concealable, but much deadlier in a direct fight. It is essentially a more heavy-duty version of its cousin the CAR-4, sacrificing some of its versatility and ammo sustainability for greatly increased lethality in the form a faster rate of fire and higher damage. The AMR-16 is one of the last primary weapons to be unlocked in the base game (At Level 39) and is quite expensive (at $716,800), but is very powerful and deadly in return.
